Perimeters Secured For A Royal Summer

As a British manufacturer of perimeter security systems, we naturally take an interest in British history and traditions. At this time of year, there is one special British tradition that takes place - Royal Garden Parties. HM The Queen along with the Duke Of Edinburgh and other members of the British Royal Family attend four Garden Parties in fact - one at the Palace of Holyroodhouse (Scotland) and three at Buckingham Palace (London).

Royal Garden parties are part of a long-held tradition, enabling the Royal family to recognise individual achievements by people throughout the UK and are greatly looked forward to by those lucky enough to be invited. Approx 10,000 guests attend each Garden Party and all have to be individually nominated; nominations come from the Lord-Lieutenants, the Civil Service, the Armed Services, the Diplomatic Corps and various charitable organisations.

According to the official website of the British Monarchy one of the highlights for most guests at a Buckingham Palace Garden Party is the opportunity to walk around the gardens; it is a unique opportunity in fact because during the rest of the year, the gardens are not open to the general public. There is a summer house, beautifully kept flower beds and plenty of wildlife plus of course the wonderful lawn on which the Garden Party is held.

The atmosphere is always colourful, relaxed and enjoyable - a tribute to the subtlety with which the all important security measures are put into place and effected. We take great pride in playing a part in these provisions - palace perimeter security is an important issue not just in Britain but in many countries around the world.

This year's Royal Garden party dates ....

Buckingham Palace - 22 June, 20 July, 22 July
Palace Of Holyroodhouse - 13 July
